The California (PA) Athletic Hall of Fame was initiated in 1995 with its first induction class.
 
The purpose of the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor those individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the achievements of Cal in the field of athletics and who have continued to demonstrate in their lives the values imparted from participating in intercollegiate athletics.

In 2023, Cal began accepting nominations for the Vulcan Athletic Distinguished Service Award to recognize individuals by virtue of their performance on athletic teams or by meritorious efforts on behalf of athletics. The award was initially presented with the Class of 2024 and is only issued when nominees meet the voting criteria.
