Denny Brown was a Vulcan baseball player from 1969 through 1971 and batted over .400 each of those seasons. Brown batted a school-record .460 in 1969 when he helped the Vulcans win the NAIA District 18 title while compiling a school-most 23 victories. A three-time NAIA All-American, Brown hit 13 doubles in 1970, a school record that lasted until 1989. Brown is the only Vulcan to hit over .400 three consecutive years. Labeled "the best player I ever had" by former Vulcan baseball coach Mitch Bailey, Brown played minor league ball with the Kansas City Royals organization after his collegiate days. He is also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

Originally from Cokeburg, PA, and a graduate of Bentworth High School, Brown is a salesman for the Fairmont Supply Company. Brown and his wife, Susan, reside in Washington with their three children-Erin, Megan, and Courtney.
