CALIFORNIA (Aug. 25) – Five former Vulcan standouts headline the 32nd-annual Hall of Fame Class at California (PA) with the Hall of Fame Ceremony set for April 2027, announced the athletic department on Tuesday morning.
The class of inductees features Jade Arganbright (swimming), Class of 2017; Garry Brown (football); Miki Glenn (women's basketball), Class of 2017; Carla Maestre (women's golf), Class of 2017; and Christy Cameron (softball), Class of 1996.
In addition, Cal will present the Vulcan Distinguished Service Award to Carolyn Tardd, Class of 1978, and recognize the Silver Anniversary of the 2002 PSAC Championship women's basketball team during the Hall of Fame Ceremony on April 17, 2027.
Arganbright (York, Pa./Central York) competed in breaststroke and individual medley events at Cal from 2013-17.
She was an All-American in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke as a sophomore and junior. Arganbright was selected the 2015 PSAC Swimmer of the Year and finished her career with seven individual titles at the PSAC Championships, the most in school history. She completed a three-peat in the 100 breaststroke at the league meet from 2015-17 and also won both the 200 breaststroke and 200 IM twice in her career. Arganbright still holds school records in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 IM.
Brown (Columbus, Ohio/Westerville South) was a three-year starting wide receiver at Cal from 2014-16.
He helped the Vulcans capture the 2016 PSAC Championship and advance to the Super Region One Championship in the NCAA Playoffs. Brown was a consensus First-Team All-American as a senior while setting single-season school records for receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and total points. He was voted the 2016 PSAC West Offensive Athlete of the Year and was a three-time All-PSAC West First-Team selection at wide receiver. A national finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy as a senior, Brown closed his career as the school's all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
Glenn (Bridgeport, W.Va./Bridgeport) was a four-year starting point guard at Cal from 2013-17.
She helped Cal claim the 2015 NCAA National Championship and win back-to-back PSAC Championships as a sophomore and junior. Glenn was a two-time WBCA All-American and was voted the PSAC West Athlete of the Year in each of her final two seasons. She ranks fourth all-time in school history with 2,007 points and also sits among the top five in school history in assists and steals. Glenn was chosen the PSAC Tournament MVP as a sophomore and junior, as well as the NCAA Regional Tournament MVP in 2015 while helping the program make three-straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
Maestre (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) was a four-year golfer at Cal from 2013-17.
She helped the Vulcans win the 2015 PSAC Championship and earn three team qualifiers for the NCAA Super Region Championships. Maestre was selected the PSAC Athlete of the Year in three-consecutive years, including 2014 when she was an individual qualifier for the NCAA National Championships. She closed her career with a scoring average of 77.7 strokes over 90 rounds. Maestre placed among the top 20 at the regional championship three times and tied for second at the 2014 PSAC Championships.
Cameron (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) was a starting shortstop at Cal from 1993-96.
She was a member of multiple conference and regional championships, as Cal swept the titles in both 1994 and 1996. Cameron ranks third in school history with 231 career hits, sits second in runs scored and steals, while still holding the all-time record with 427 assists. She earned All-PSAC West First-Team honors as a junior and senior, as well as NFCA all-region accolades in 1995. Cameron previously held all-time school records for runs scored, at-bats and games played.
Tardd will be the recipient of the Vulcan Distinguished Service Award after serving 40 years at the university, including as an administrative assistant at Cal for several decades. She received the John R. Gregg Award for Loyalty and Service in 2020 after retiring the previous year.
Led by 2015 Hall of Fame inductee Darcie Vincent, the Vulcans captured the first PSAC Championship in program history in 2002 to start a run of four league titles in five years. Cal finished the year with a 25-6 overall record and the program earned its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Vulcans featured a pair of future Hall of Fame inductees in Sara McKinney (2010), who was selected both the PSAC West Athlete of the Year and PSAC West Rookie of the Year, and Sameera Philyaw (2009).
Additionally, the Vulcans will present the Michael Duda Award for Athletic Achievement during the Hall of Fame Ceremony. The award is presented to members of the university family for outstanding success in the field of athletics. Last spring, the honor was presented to Bill Cleary, who spent 34 seasons as the head coach of the Serra Catholic girls' basketball program and compiled a 657-156 career record.
The induction for the Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2027 is set for April 17, 2027.
