Brian Ferrari was a phenomenal track and field and cross country star for the Vulcans in the early 1980's. A two-sport All-American, Ferrari won the NCAA Division II 10,000-meter national championship in both 1983 and 1984. In cross country, Ferrari won the NCAA Division II national championship in 1983, the only track and field or cross country male national individual titles in school history.

Overall, Ferrari was a five-time All-American and eight-time PSAC champion, winning an almost unimaginable six PSAC track titles and the PSAC cross country championship in 1981 and 1983. Always in superior physical condition, Ferrari competed in the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs at four straight PSAC meets and finished either first or second every time. He achieved all-conference status 12 times, and is the only Vulcan athlete to win three NCAA individual national championships. In 1992, Ferrari was just one of only 100 runners nationwide who qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trails in the marathon.

Originally from Jerome, PA, and a graduate of Conemaugh Township High School, Ferrari is a technology education teacher in Williamsport, Maryland.
