MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (Nov. 2) – Senior
Stephanie Thompson (Queensville, Ontario/Huron Heights Secondary) scored both Vulcan goals in the team's 2-1 win over Millersville in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match Saturday night.
The No. 7 California University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team concludes the regular season at 15-2-1 overall and 15-1 in conference play. The Vulcans will be the top seed in the PSAC Tournament that begins on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Meanwhile, the Marauders finish the season at 7-8-1 in the PSAC and 8-9-1 overall.
Thompson gave the Vulcans the lead with her first goal of the game right before the 19th minute. The Ontario product headed in a free-kick off the foot of sophomore

Neither team put the ball in the back of the net for the next 60 minutes until Millersville finally broke through in the 76th minute to even the score at 1-1. The Vulcans did not waste much time responding as less than three minutes later Thompson headed in another free kick, this one from junior
Erin Hogan (Beaver, Pa./Beaver), to put Cal U back on top at 2-1.
Freshman
Meghan Jayes (New Albany, Ohio/New Albany) made a pair of saves in the final 10 minutes of the match to secure the victory for the Vulcans and tied a season high with six saves in the match.
Both teams attempted nine shots, but the Vulcans attempted nine corner kicks compared to none by the Marauders.
