CALIFORNIA (Sept. 15) – In its first non-conference contest of the season, the California (PA) women's soccer team battled Ursuline to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday evening at the Phillipsburg Soccer Facility.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (1-4-1) snapped a three-game scoring drought while scoring a goal on both sides of halftime.
• Ursuline is a member of Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) program and was playing its second Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) member this fall after opening the year against Clarion.
• Cal took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute when senior Ella Kaszeta played sophomore Macrina Robb in on goal with Robb converting for the first goal of the contest.
• The Arrows tied the game with just five seconds remaining before halftime when Shelby Nagy scored on a left-footed strike from outside the box.
• Ursuline then took a 2-1 lead in the 62nd minute when Loreley Maier headed home a cross from Dora Peszlen.
• Just over eight minutes later, senior Alicia Green tied the score for the Vulcans with a long-range strike.
• Kaszeta earned her second assist of the night on the goal, marking the first two-assist performance of her career.
• Cal finished with a season-high 14 shots, including nine on goal, while Ursuline posted 13 shots and seven shots on target.
• Freshman Kaleigh Rexroad tallied four saves against the Arrows.
• The 2-2 result marked Cal's highest-scoring draw since the 2019 season when the Vulcans played Gannon to a 3-3 tie.
