CALIFORNIA (Sept. 27) -- The California University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team scored a goal in the 14th minute that proved to be the difference in a 1-0 victory over the University of Charleston (W.Va.) on Saturday at Roadman Park.

Katie Powell (Bentleyville, Pa./Charleroi) and freshman
Kayla Jachimowski (Camden, Del./Caeser Rodney).
Senior goalkeeper
Erin Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) made five saves on nine shots for her third shutout (second straight) of the season.
The Vulcans (5-3-2) return to divisional play on Wednesday, Oct. 1, when they conclude their five-game homestand against Slippery Rock University. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start.
