LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Aug. 19) – The California (PA) men's cross country team was positioned No. 11 in the preseason Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) poll released by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

The Vulcans finished No. 10 at the conference meet last fall but return just two of their top-seven runners from the championship race.

Shippensburg was the overwhelming preseason favorite with 13 first-place votes after winning its third-consecutive PSAC Championship in 2025. East Stroudsburg collected the remaining two first-place votes and was positioned second, while West Chester, Kutztown and Slippery Rock completed the top five in preseason poll.

Individually, the top-three runners from last year's championship are all absent from the 2026 field.

The Vulcans start the season with a dual meet against IUP on Sept. 4 at Roadman Park.
