ERIE, Pa. (Sept. 18) – In its first action in two weeks, the California (PA) men's cross country team finished second in the team standings at the Penn State Behrend Invitational on Friday evening.
TEAM NOTES
• The Vulcans finished with 47 points behind a pair of top-five individual runners.
• The host Lions earned the invitational title with 19 points after boasting five of the top-seven runners in the field.
• Behrend won its sixth-straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship in 2025.
• The event featured entries from four schools.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Sophomore
Justin Gross led the team and ranked fourth overall with a time of 28 minutes, 47.8 seconds.
• Senior
Jon Berzonsky finished in fifth place with a time of 28:51.7 in his season debut.
• Behrend senior Peyton Brewer, a two-time top-five finisher at the AMCC Championships, won the individual title on Friday by nearly a full minute with a time of 27:35.8.
NEXT
• The Vulcans are slated to return to action on Friday, Sept. 25, at the La Roche Invitational in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
