CRESSON, Pa. (Oct. 3) – The Vulcans claimed their first invitational title since the 2022 campaign on Saturday when they won the Mountie Invitational hosted by Mount Aloysius with four of the top-five runners.
TEAM RESULTS
• California nearly posted a perfect score at the five-team meet with 18 points.
• The Vulcans last earned a tournament crown in the opening event of 2022 at Daemen (NY).
• Penn State-Altoona placed second with 49 points and Pitt-Greensburg finished third with 71 points.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
• Freshman
Garret Minnick captured his first career individual victory by just one-hundredth of a second with a time of 18 minutes, 30.7 seconds.
• Senior
Jon Berzonsky placed second with a time of 18:30.8 and freshman
Taven Price finished third overall in 19:04.1.
NEXT
• The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, Oct. 10, when they compete at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Clinton, Pennsylvania, at 10 a.m.
