Beau Bigam was chosen the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Bigam earned a complete-game victory on Sunday, as the Vulcans opened play in The Sunshine State with a 5-3 win against St. Cloud State (MN) of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). He allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk over 9.0 innings. Bigam tossed 104 pitches (73 strikes) while recording the first complete game of his career. The Connellsville product held the Huskies scoreless through six innings before they scored three runs (one earned) in the top of the seventh.
A 6-foot-1 junior, Bigam holds a 2-1 record in three starts this spring after appearing exclusively as a relief pitcher in 2025. He boasts a 1.31 ERA while registering 15 strikeouts and issued three walks over 20.2 innings pitched this season. Bigam entered the year with a 1-3 record and a 6.70 ERA in 21 career appearances (six starts).
The Vulcans are slated to play seven games in Florida this week, including five contests versus NSIC programs. Cal will face defending-NSIC Champion Minnesota State tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10, after the Mavericks won the league title for the third time in five years last spring.
