LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (March 23) – For the second time in three weeks, California (PA) junior
Beau Bigam was tabbed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Bigam earned a complete-game victory in Game 1 of the series at Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday afternoon. He allowed two runs (both earned) on nine hits and issued zero walks, as the Vulcans posted an 11-2 victory at Point Stadium. Bigam tied his career high with seven strikeouts over 7.0 innings (83 pitches, 60 strikes).
A 6-foot-1 junior, Bigam holds a 3-1 record over five starts this spring. He boasts a 1.69 ERA over 32.0 innings pitched while totaling 27 strikeouts and allowing just three walks. He has limited opponents to a .240 batting average, including only two extra-base hits. Bigam entered the season with a 1-3 record and a 6.71 ERA in 21 career appearances.
Bigam is the first pitcher to receive the weekly league honor multiple times in a season since Dylan Brosky in the 2022 campaign.
The Vulcans return to action on Wednesday, March 25, when they host Point Park in non-conference play at EQT Park with first pitch at 12 p.m.
