CALIFORNIA (March 12) – Senior
Alice Etienne and sophomore
Loreena Manser will represent the California (PA) women's track & field team at the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on March 13-14 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Etienne and Manser were selected to the NCAA Championships for the first time in their careers. The Vulcans have now boasted at least one entry at the indoor national meet 10 times since the 2014 season.
A 5-foot-5 senior, Etienne will be competing in both the long jump and triple jump this weekend. She is slotted No. 15 on the national performance list in the tripe jump after breaking the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship and school record with a distance of 12.25 meters (40-2.25 feet) two weeks ago. Additionally, Etienne ranks No. 18 nationally in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 5.99 meters (19-8.0 feet) set last month at Kent State.
Manser will be competing in the long jump while in her native Virginia. She set the school record in the event last month at Kent State with a distance of 6.04 meters (19-9.75 feet) and currently sits No. 14 on the national performance list in the event.
The long jump is scheduled to begin on Friday, March 13, at 2:05 p.m. EST. Etienne and Manser will both compete in the first flight of the event, which features 18 total entries. Minnesota State senior Miranda Lauvstad, a native of Norway, owns the top distance in the country this year at 6.35 meters (20-10.0 feet), while Lewis (IL) senior Denise Hernandez returns after winning the outdoor national title in the event.
Etienne will be competing in the triple jump on Saturday, March 14, at 3:30 p.m. Est. The event also features 18 entries with Etienne slated for the first flight. Minnesota State junior Ghada Hamdani, a native of Tunisia, enters as the national leader in the event with a distance of 12.93 meters (42-5.25 feet), while Central Washington junior Emy Ntekpere returns after capturing the national title during both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2025.
