VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (March 14) – Senior Alice Etienne garnered First-Team All-America status and broke her own school record in the triple jump during the final day of the NCAA Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Etienne collected All-America honors for the second time in as many days after earning Second-Team All-America status in the long jump on Friday. She is the school's first-ever All-American in the triple jump and first field athlete – men's or women's – to be designated as an All-American in multiple events at a single NCAA Championships.

A native of Delaware County, Etienne placed seventh overall in the triple jump with a distance of 12.46 meters (40-10.5 feet) on her sixth and final attempt. She entered the weekend ranked No. 15 in the country in the event with a then-school record of 12.25 meters (40-2.25 feet) set last month. Etienne eclipsed that record on her first attempt Saturday with a mark of 12.34 meters (40-6.0 feet). She then surpassed the distance again on her fifth jump with a distance of 12.35 meters (40-6.25 feet).

Senior Mikaela Miles of Embry-Riddle (FL) captured the national title in the triple jump with a mark of 13.11 meters (43-0.25 feet). Prior to the weekend, she was ranked second on the national performance list in the event with a season-best distance of 12.83 meters (42-1.25 feet).
