California garners academic laurels

NEW ORLEANS (July 20) – The California (PA) women's track & field team received U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team status for the 16th-straight year on Monday afternoon.

Additionally, Loreena Manser and Jing McCann collected individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. McCann garnered the award for the second time in her career, while Manser captured the accolade for the first time.

To qualify for individual All-Academic honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.25 or higher and have reached the qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships during either the indoor or outdoor season.

The Vulcans were among nearly 140 programs recognized by the USTFCCCA as All-Academic Teams. To receive All-Academic Team status, a program must post a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher.
