Manser selected Track Athlete of the Year

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (June 11) – Following a decorated spring campaign, California (PA) sophomore Loreena Manser was voted the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year on Thursday afternoon.

Manser received NCAA All-America Honorable Mention in multiple events and captured four titles at the PSAC Championships during the outdoor season. She becomes the fourth different standout to receive PSAC Track Athlete of the Year laurels since 2015 with the program combining to earn the accolade nine times during that span (indoor, outdoor).

A native of Virginia, Manser joins Brad Rager (2008 outdoor) as the only track & field athletes at Cal to win four titles at a conference meet. She swept the sprint titles in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash after accomplishing a similar feat during the indoor season. Manser also captured the long jump title for the first time in her career and anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay – the program's first relay title in four years. Overall, the 5-foot-0 sophomore received All-PSAC status in five events during the spring while being named the Most Valuable Athlete and Outstanding Track Athlete of the PSAC Championships last month.

Manser received All-America Honorable Mention in both the 200 meters and long jump at the NCAA Championships in Kansas. She was competing in the long jump at the national meet for the second time in her career while making her national debut in the 200 meters.

A health sciences major, Manser was tabbed the PSAC Track Athlete of the Week twice during the outdoor season. She established personal bests in both the 100 and 200 meters this spring at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock in April, posting a time of 11.71 seconds in the 100 meters and 23.63 seconds in the 200 meters. Both performances rank as the second-fastest in school history behind only two-time National Champion Divonne Franklin, a four-time PSAC Track Athlete of the Year.
