Jonathan Thrush recorded a top-100 finish at the NCAA National Championships for the second-straight year on Saturday afternoon.
Thrush posted a time of 31 minutes, 36.3 seconds to place 96th overall while at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. He sat in 109th place halfway through the race before climbing 13 spots over final five kilometers. The 5-foot-10 senior gained six spots from the 6.8-kilometer to 8-kilometer markers with a 4:04.5 split.
A native of Berks County, Thrush was making his third career appearance at the NCAA National Championships. He finished in 98th place at the event last year in Sacramento, California, after competing at the 2022 national race outside Seattle, Washington.
Adams State (CO) senior Kidus Begashaw captured the individual national title by three seconds with a time of 29:39.8 after finishing 14th overall at the event in 2024. Wingate (NC) won its second National Championship in three years with 62 points – topping Adams State by just nine points – on Saturday.
