CALIFORNIA (Nov. 21) – California (PA) senior
Jonathan Thrush will be competing at the 2025 NCAA National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, which is located approximately 40 miles south of Milwaukee.
Thrush earned an at-large individual qualifier for the NCAA National Championships and will be competing at the national race for the third time in his career. He will race in a field that includes 34 team qualifiers (24 automatic, 10 at-large) and a minimum of 24 additional individuals who advanced through automatic and at-large selection criteria.
A 5-foot-10 senior, Thrush placed eighth overall at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships two weeks ago to mark his third career top-10 finish at the event. He also matched the best finish of his career by placing third at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships last month.
Thrush previously competed at the NCAA National Championships in 2022 and 2024. As a redshirt freshman in 2022, he placed 177th overall at the event held outside Seattle, Washington. Last year, Thrush finished in 98th place at the national race in Sacramento, California.
The Cal cross country program – men's and women's – will be represented at the NCAA National Championships for the 11th time in the last 17 years. The Vulcans have featured seven different individual qualifiers and three team qualifiers during that span.
The race is scheduled to start at 12:15 p.m. EST and the field returns just three of the top-10 runners from last season.
