Beyoncé Kelly earned All-America status in the high jump for the fifth time in her career on Saturday afternoon during the final day of the NCAA Championships.
Kelly placed fourth in the high jump while matching her outdoor collegiate-best mark of 1.74 meters (5-8.5 feet). She previously reached the height at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships when she finished third overall. Kelly opened the meet on Saturday by posting a mark of 1.66 meters (5-5.25 feet) on her initial attempt before clearing the bar at 1.71 meters (5-7.25 feet) on her third attempt. The Maryland native also reached the height of 1.77 meters on her final attempt. Kelly was one of three competitors in a field of 21 entries to finish with a similar mark of 1.77 meters in Kansas.
Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) senior Arika Harbo captured her fourth career national title, and first since the 2023 indoor season, in the event by reaching a height of 1.80 meters (5-10.75 feet).
Kelly joins former teammate
Divonne Franklin as the only women's standouts in Cal track & field history to earn All-America laurels at least five times in a career. The 5-foot-4 senior registered a top-five finish at the NCAA Championships in each of her last three appearances at the national meet.
