WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 6) – The Vulcans posted eight conference-qualifying marks, including one NCAA provisional standard, over the weekend while competing at the 58th-annual Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary.
NCAA STANDARD
• Senior
Beyoncé Kelly reached the NCAA qualifying mark in the high jump for the first time this spring with a height of 1.70 meters (5-7.0 feet).
PSAC STANDARD
• Kelly posted a season-best mark in the high jump while competing in the seeded portion of the event.
• Fellow senior
Kat Henderson and junior
Tatum Hoffman also reached the conference standard in the high jump while in Virginia.
• Henderson and Hoffman both cleared 1.55 meters (5-1.0 feet) over the weekend.
• Freshman
Gabriella Fralin established a personal best in the 800-meter run after crossing the finish line in 2:17.19, which currently is the fastest time in the PSAC this spring.
• Junior
Madeline Curtis posted a time of 4:44.43 to improve her qualifying mark in the 1,500-meter run.
• Classmate
Taylor Timmons set a season-best time in the 400-meter dash by rounding the track in 59.36 seconds.
• Fellow junior
Iyana Campbell finished with a season-best mark of 1:07.40 in the 400-meter hurdles in Virginia.
• Junior
Jing McCann reached the conference standard in the seeded portion of hammer throw with a heave of 45.94 meters (150-9.0 feet).
• The 4x400-meter relay of Campbell, Fralin, Timmons and freshman
Rebekah Priano established a season-best time of 4:04.48, which is the second-best mark in the league.
VICTORIES
• Sophomore
Skylar Riedel won the triple jump over the weekend with a distance of 10.80 meters (35-5.25 feet).
• Henderson claimed the victory in the long jump with a mark of 5.37 meters (17-7.5 feet).
