SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (April 27) – Junior
Jing McCann broke her own school record in the hammer throw on Saturday, as the California (PA) women's track & field team qualified a pair of new entries for the league championships while competing at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg.
PSAC STANDARDS
• McCann improved her PSAC-qualifying mark in the hammer throw by registering a distance of 49.94 meters (160-7.0 feet) on her sixth and final attempt.
• She eclipsed her previous school record of 48.83 meters (160-2.0 feet) set last May while at West Virginia.
• McCann ranks fifth on the league's performance list in the hammer throw this season.
• Senior
Kat Henderson reached the conference standard in the long jump for the first time this spring with a leap of 5.41 meters (17-9.0 feet).
• Freshman
Rosalyn Perozzi qualified for the league championships in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.90.
• Junior
Iyana Campbell set a personal record in the 400-meter hurdles after rounding the track in 1:05.82.
• Fellow junior
Taylor Timmons reached the conference standard in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.85 seconds.
• Sophomore
Skylar Riedel finished with a distance of 11.08 meters (36-4.25 feet) in the triple jump on her third attempt.
VICTORIES
• McCann won the hammer throw for the third time this spring, including back-to-back weeks.
• Perozzi claimed her first collegiate victory in the 800 meters by nearly six-tenths of a second.
• The Vulcans won the 4x400-meter relay by over 12 seconds with Timmons, freshman
