LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 1) – Redshirt freshman
Jonathan Thrush (Temple, Pa./Muhlenberg) recorded a top-20 individual finish while competing in a field of over 400 runners at the Live in Lou Classic hosted by Louisville on Saturday morning.
The Vulcans finished 32nd in the team standings with 760 points while posting an average time of 26 minutes, 14.98 seconds. Grand Valley State (Mich.) captured the invitational title with 190 points behind a pair of top-10 runners. UT-Martin placed second in the standings with 196 points and North Alabama finished third in a field of 46 teams with 207 points.
Thrush finished 20th overall while posting a time of 24 minutes, 47.3 seconds over the eight-kilometer course. He was competing in only his second race since the spring of 2020 when he placed seventh overall at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships.

Noah Bernarding (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) placed second on the team and 106th overall with a time of 25:43.9, while senior
Mason Jobe (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) crossed the finish line in 25:49.1 to finish in 118th place. Sophomore
Ian Zimmerman (Bedford, Pa./Northern Bedford County) finished with a time of 26:57.3 to place 262nd overall and freshman
Kolby Kent (Roscoe, Pa./California) rounded out the team scorers by finishing in 337th place on Saturday with a time of 27:57.3.
Cumberland (Tenn.), a NAIA program, freshman Jason Bowers cruised to the individual title by over 25 seconds with a time of 23:51.7.
The Vulcans return to action at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.
