In Game 2, redshirt sophomore Andre Jones (New Castle, Pa./Union) suffered the loss while tossing the first complete game of his career. He yielded five runs (all earned) on nine hits and posted three strikeouts in 7.0 innings (86 pitches). Redshirt sophomore Logan Urtz (3-1) earned the victory after tossing 1.0 inning of scoreless relief and freshman Justin Zeitler recorded the save after posting 2.0 innings of scoreless relief.

The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with a leadoff homer by shortstop Brendan Costantino before the Vulcans tied the score in the bottom of the inning. Senior left fielder John Orr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) reached on a walk and advanced to third on a double by senior first baseman Derrik Zeroski (Clinton, Pa./West Allegheny) before scoring on a ground-out.

Cal U claimed its only lead of the day in the second when senior right fielder Chuck Gasti (Carmichaels, Pa./Carmichaels) scored on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded. The Griffins answered with three runs in the top of the third behind five-straight singles to reclaim the lead, 4-2. In the fourth, junior shortstop Matt Peters (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) started the inning with an opposite-field solo homer, his second of the year, before Seton Hill added an insurance run on an RBI triple in the fifth.

In Game 1, the Vulcans were shutout for the second time this season despite advancing a runner into scoring position in each of the last three innings. Cal U used five different pitchers in the contest with sophomore starter Cory Craig (Youngsville, Pa./Youngsville) being saddled with the loss after yielding six runs (three earned) on nine hits in 5.0 innings (71 pitches). Seton Hill junior Brett Sullivan (7-3) earned the win after tossing 5.0 scoreless innings (77 pitches) while scattering five hits and issuing two walks.

Seton Hill jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first behind a pair of extra-base hits and a fielding error. The Griffins added an unearned run in the fourth before scoring a pair of runs in the fifth on a squeeze bunt and two-out RBI single. In the sixth, Seton Hill scored four runs to stretch the lead to 10-0 before tallying two more runs  – both unearned – in the seventh.

Cal U featured six seniors in the starting lineup of Game 1 and recognized its eight seniors between games on Sunday – outfielder Ben Carson (Coal Center, Pa./California), infielder Chad Crockett (Gilmanton, N.H./Gilford), Gasti, infielder Blake Henderson (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley), infielder Giovanni Morales (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep), Orr, outfielder Zak Schmidt (Moon Twp., Pa./Moon), and Zeroski.
