WHEELING, W.Va. (Sept. 5) – The Vulcans played into a scoreless tie deep into the second period before dropping a 1-0 contest on Wednesday night at Wheeling Jesuit in non-conference play.
With its second-straight loss, the California University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team falls to 1-2 this season. Meanwhile, Wheeling Jesuit earned its first win of the year to improve to 1-2 overall.
After a scoreless first period, the Cardinals scored the lone goal of the game at the 75:10-mark when sophomore Luke Roan scored his first goal of the season off an assist from senior Victor Picchio.

Shane Donovan (Pipersville, Pa./Central Bucks East) suffered the loss after making two saves in 90 minutes of action. Wheeling Jesuit sophomore Cody Thompson earned the win by recording his first shutout of the year.
The Vulcans return to action on Friday, Sept. 7, when they host West Virginia Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
