SAN ANTONIO, Texas (March 12) – Junior Melissa Gates (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) broke her own school record and earned All-America honors in the 100 freestyle on Saturday, as the Vulcans tied their program-best finish at the NCAA Division II Championships at the Palto Alto Natatorium.

She finished 10th overall in both the preliminaries and finals, posting a time of 50.80 seconds in the finals to earn All-America Honorable Mention.

The Vulcans also received All-America Honorable Mention in the 400 freestyle relay after placing 10th in the finals with a time of 3 minutes, 27.78 seconds, which is only 16-hundreths of a second shy of the school record set three weeks ago.
