CALIFORNIA (April 7) – The California (PA) swimming team placed four swimmers on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Ashlyn Hornick, sophomore Adeline McCusker, senior Ella Root and senior Audrey Weaver received honors from the organization. Hornick earned laurels for a third-consecutive season, while Weaver collected the accolade for a second-straight year.

Hornick competed in three individual events and anchored four relays at the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships. She maintains a 3.93 cumulative grade point average (GPA) while completing a degree in graphic design.

In her first year eligible for the honor, McCusker qualified for the bonus finals in the 100 breaststroke at league championships and set a personal record in the event. She holds a 3.63 GPA while majoring in health sciences.

Root competed in a pair of individual events and the 400 medley relay at the PSAC Championships after missing the meet last year due to injury. She holds a 3.96 GPA while completing a degree in veterinary technology.

As a senior, Weaver competed in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, as well as the 200 IM and 400 IM, at the league championships this season. She holds a 3.79 GPA while finishing a degree in criminal justice & criminology with a concentration in law & justice.

To qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA and have competed in five competitions or finished among the top-eight at a conference meet. Additionally, each institution is capped at four nominees in the sport of swimming.
