SAN ANTONIO, Texas (March 11) – The 800 freestyle relay posted a new school record and earned All-America Honorable Mention on Friday, as the California University of Pennsylvania swimming team competed in the third day of the NCAA Division II Championships at the Palo Alto Natatorium.

The 800 freestyle relay of freshman Clarissa Enslin (Dalview, South Africa/St. Andrews School for Girls), sophomore Georgia Emert (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), freshman Stephanie Bolt (Sundsvall, Sweden/Skvaderns Gymnasieskola) and junior Melissa Gates (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) finished 11th in the finals after touching the wall in 7 minutes, 35.21 seconds. The Vulcans eclipsed the previous school record by over three-plus seconds.

As an individual, Emert also earned All-America Honorable Mention in the 500 freestyle by finishing 16th with a time of 5:07.60.

Cal U concludes the season tomorrow, Saturday, March 12, when it competes in the 100 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay at the NCAA Championships.
