Cal U falls to Kutztown, 4-2

SAVANNAH, Ga. (March 5) – Facing one of the best pitchers in the region, the Vulcans were held to only four hits and suffered a 4-2 loss against Kutztown University on Thursday in the Savannah Invitational, hosted by Armstrong Atlantic University.

The California University of Pennsylvania baseball team drops to 4-3 on the season, while Kutztown improves to 12-3 overall.

Sophomore Ryan Lavrusky (Temple Terrace, Fla./King/Waynesburg) started for the Vulcans and suffered the loss after allowing only two earned runs in eight innings with six strikeouts and two walks.

Cal U returns to the diamond tomorrow, Friday, March 6, when it faces the University of Findlay and Bellarmine University (Ky.). The Vulcans posted an 8-7 win in their first meeting against Findlay and dropped a 9-1 contest to Bellarmine yesterday.
