LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 30) – California University of Pennsylvania senior setter
Renata da Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Ateneu) was selected an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Third-Team All-American on Monday night, as selected by the AVCA Division II All-America committee.

Joanna Nist (Rockwood, Pa./Rockwood) received AVCA All-America Honorable Mention for the second time in three years.
A native of Brazil, da Silva leads the Pennsylvania State Athletics Conference (PSAC) and ranks 11th in the nation with 11.39 assists per set. She also averages 2.19 digs, 0.81 kill and 0.50 block per set despite missing time this season due to injury. da Silva has shattered the all-time school record with 5,451 career assists and has helped lead the Vulcans to three-straight PSAC and NCAA Atlantic Regional championships.
Nist, the three-time Daktronics Atlantic Regional Player of the Year, leads the 14-team league and is among the national leaders in Division II with 3.89 kills per set. She also ranks second in Cal U history with 1,882 career kills and third with 1,552 career digs. The former Rockwood standout has posted 20 kill/dig double-doubles this year and was selected the PSAC West Athlete of the Year by the coaches.
da Silva, Nist and the rest of the Vulcans continue their season on Thursday, Dec. 3, when they face No. 5 West Texas A&M in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Championships in St. Paul, Minn., at 3:30 p.m. EST.
