FINDLAY, Ohio (Sept. 5) – The California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team claimed a 3-1 victory (25-16, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21) over Hillsdale College (Mich.) in the TownePlace Suites Classic on Friday.

The Vulcans remain undefeated at 6-0 while the Chargers fall to 4-2.

Junior Joanna Nist (Rockwood, Pa./Rockwood) led Cal U with 19 kills, while Ludmila Amaral (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Afonso Schimidt) accounted for 17 kills and Thais Franca (Sao Paulo, Brazil / Padre Manoel De Paiva) contributed 12 kills. Junior Marta Hodge (Fayetteville, Pa./Chambersburg) led the defense with 27 digs while sophomore Julie Paronish (Hastings, Pa./Northern Cambria) had 15 and Nist had 14.

Junior Renata Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Ateneu) guided the offense with 50 assists.

Cal U continues tournament play later today, Friday, Sept. 5, with a 7:30 p.m. match against Findlay University.
