WHEELING, W.Va. (Sept. 14) – California (PA) sophomore
Olivia Weiseman was chosen to an all-tournament team for the third-straight week, as she received the honors following her play at the Atlantic Region Crossover on Monday morning.
Weiseman averaged 3.56 kills and 3.33 digs per set over the weekend, as the Vulcans posted a 2-1 record against teams from the Mountain East Conference (MEC) that combined for nearly 60 wins last year. She finished with a .267 hitting percentage while posting 36.0 total points over nine sets.
A native of Ohio, Weiseman opened play on Friday with a kill/dig double-double behind 14 kills and 11 digs in a 3-0 win against West Liberty. She later posted nine kills and six digs versus Fairmont State that evening. On Saturday, Weiseman registered nine kills on a .333 clip, 13 digs, two service aces and two blocks in a 3-0 victory over West Virginia State – the 2024 MEC Champions and runner-up last season.
Weiseman is averaging 3.31 kills per set on a .223 hitting percentage through 10 matches this season. She also sits second on the team with 2.66 digs per set while averaging 3.64 points per set. As a freshman last fall, Weiseman led the team in kills, service aces and points per set.
The Vulcans return to action tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 15, when they host West Virginia Wesleyan in non-conference play at 6 p.m.
