JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (April 21) – In their final event of the regular season, the Vulcans placed fourth in the team standings of the Bedford Springs Invitational hosted by Pitt-Johnstown on Tuesday behind a pair of top-10 individual finishes.
TEAM NOTES
• The California men's golf team shot a 20-over 596 (300-296) while competing at Bedford Springs Resort.
• Glenville State won the tournament title by just one stroke with a 15-over 591 (296-295).
• West Liberty (295-297) and West Chester (301-291) tied for second place at 16-over 592 in a field of 15 teams.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Junior
Chaz Ekoniak led the team and tied for sixth overall at two-over 146 (75-71).
• He fired six birdies over the two rounds, including five on the front nine.
• Classmate
Gavin Goodrich tied for ninth-place with a three-over 147 (72-75).
• He was one of three players in a field of 94 golfers to record an eagle, shooting one on the par-four 356-yard eighth in the second round.
• Junior
Jacob Pedley was one stroke back and tied for 12th overall with a four-over 148 (73-75) after carding par on 25 holes over two days.
• West Liberty freshman Adam Gill earned medalist honors following a playoff after shooting a two-under 142 (70-72).
NEXT
• The field for the NCAA Tournament will be announced on Sunday, April 26, with regional play scheduled for May 7-9.
