INDIANA, Pa. (April 15) – Competing in a field that featured every Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) program, along with others in the Atlantic Region, the California (PA) men's golf team finished sixth at the 61st-annual Cecil C. Spadafora Invitational hosted by IUP on Wednesday.
TEAM NOTES
• The Vulcans posted a 38-over (300-306) while playing at the Indiana Country Club.
• West Chester captured the invitational title at the 13-team event by one stroke with a 20-over 588 (296-292).
• The host Crimson Hawks finished second at 21-over 589 (293-296), while Pitt-Johnstown ranked third at the event with a 29-over 597 (296-301).
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Junior
Gavin Goodrich led the team and tied for ninth place with a six-over 148 (76-72).
• He fired an eagle on the par-four, 375-yard 16th and carded three birdies in the second round.
• Classmate
Chaz Ekoniak tied for 17th overall at eight-over 150 (71-79) after totaling four birdies on Tuesday, including three on the back nine.
• UPJ junior Eli Ropietski earned medalist honors in a field of 78 golfers by one stroke with an even-par 142 (70-72).

• The Vulcans return to action next week at the Bedford Springs Intercollegiate hosted by UPJ on April 20-21 at the Omni Bedford Springs Old Course.
