ERIE, Pa. (Oct. 12) – Junior Nixen Erdely tied for second on the individual leader board while the Vulcans finished second in the team standings at the Bud Elwell Invitational hosted by Gannon on Monday.

TEAM RESULTS
• California shot a 12-over 588 (296-292) while playing at Whispering Woods Golf Club.
• The host Golden Knights captured the tournament tile by 13 strokes after firing a one-under 575 (289-286).
• Shepherd (308-302) and Waterloo (308-302), a member of Ontario University Athletics, tied for third with a 34-over 610.
• The event featured golfers from eight teams, including four from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
• Erdely carded an even-par 144 (71-73) to finish in a six-way tie for second overall.
• He led the field of 56 golfers with 11 birdies, including eight in the first round.
• Erdely posted the third top-10 overall finish of his career and his first since tying for ninth at the 2026 NCAA Regional Championships.
• Senior Anthony DePietress finished in eighth place with a two-over 146 (75-71).
• Classmate Chaz Ekoniak was two strokes back at four-over 148 (77-71) behind eight birdies and tied for 10th overall.
• Virginia Union sophomore Samuel Kozisek earned medalist honors by shooting a three-under 141 (68-73).

NEXT
• The Vulcans close out the fall this weekend by competing at the PSAC Championships on Oct. 16-18.
• The league championships will be held at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
• Cal added the Bud Elwell Invitational to its schedule after an earlier fall event was canceled due to rain.
