Manser receives weekly league track honor

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Feb. 23) – Following one of the fastest times in league history, California (PA) sophomore Loreena Manser was tabbed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Monday afternoon.

Manser posted a staggering time of 24.35 seconds in the 200-meter dash on Friday at the Penn State Tune-Up. She finished second overall in the event behind an unattached entry that represented Canada at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Manser improved her PSAC-best time in the event this year by eight-hundredths of a second. Her time also ranks as the second-fastest in school history behind two-time National Champion Divonne Franklin, who holds the all-time league record at 23.49 seconds.

A native of Virginia, Manser continues to rank first on the PSAC Performance List in three events. She paces the league in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.57 seconds set in December at Youngstown State. Manser also leads the conference and broke the school record in the long jump with a distance of 6.04 meters (19-9.7.5 feet) at Kent State two weeks ago. The 5-foot-0 sophomore also sits sixth in the PSAC in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.90 seconds despite competing in the event just once this winter.

Manser received PSAC Track Athlete of the Week laurels for the second time this year and was also honored as the PSAC Field Athlete of the Week earlier this month. She has earned weekly league accolades a combined four times in her career.

The Vulcans will compete at the PSAC Championships this weekend in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with events starting on Saturday, February 28.
