Jing McCann broke her own school record in the weight throw and was one four entries to reach Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks while at the SPIRE Midwest Open on Saturday.
NOTES
• McCann placed third in the weight throw with a mark of 14.97 meters (49-1.5 feet) on her first attempt.
• She eclipsed her previous school record of 14.72 meters (48-3.5 feet) set at the 2024 PSAC Championships.
• Sophomore
Loreena Manser qualified for the league championships in the 400-meter dash while competing in the event for only the third time in her collegiate career (twice indoor).
• She won the event by six-hundredths of a second after crossing the finish line in 57.90 seconds.
• Junior
Rosalyn Perozzi made her season debut on Saturday and reached the conference standard in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 19.53 seconds to place second in the event.
• Sophomore
Brianna Lee qualified for the league championships in the high jump by clearing 1.60 meters (5-3.0 feet) on her second attempt at the height.

• Cal returns to Ohio on Jan. 30-31 when it competes at the Mid-Major Invitational hosted by Youngstown State.
