Jonathan Thrush earned the individual title for the fifth time in his career on Friday evening, as the California (PA) men's cross country team opened the season at Race in the Park hosted by Gannon.
TEAM NOTES
• The Vulcans finished third in the team standings with 53 points while competing at Pleasant Ridge Park.
• The host Golden Knights captured the team title with 29 points behind three of the top-five individual finishers.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Thrush won the race by 14 seconds on Friday after crossing the finish line in 18:48.0.
• He most recently claimed a victory at Hood (MD) last September.

Jacob McGhee registered a top-10 finish in his college debut with a time of 19:54.4.

• The Vulcans return to action on Friday, Sept. 12, when they compete at the 30th-annual Br. John "Paddy" Doyle Meet of Champion hosted by Iona in Bronx, New York.
