BRONX, N.Y. (Sept. 12) – California (PA) senior
Jonathan Thrush registered a top-10 individual finish on Friday morning while competing in a field of several NCAA Division I entries at the 30th-annual Br. John "Paddy" Doyle Meet of Champions hosted by Iona (NY).
TEAM NOTES
• The California (PA) men's cross country team placed seventh in the team standings with 209 points.
• Princeton and Yale both finished with 69 points to tie for first at the event, which featured entries from 11 teams.
• The Vulcans were competing at the event hosted by Iona for the first time since the 2008 season.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Thrush placed eighth overall in a field of 100 runners with a time of 25:40.20.
• He was the lone non-NCAA Division I entry to finish among the top 20 while competing in the five-mile race.
• Princeton sophomore Jacob Nenow won the race by two seconds after crossing the finish line in 25:02.90.
NEXT
• The Vulcans are idle for three weeks before competing at Daniel Mullen Memorial Invitational hosted by Muskingum on Oct. 4 in New Concord, Ohio.
