SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (May 9) – The California (PA) men's track & field team qualified three entries for the finals at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Friday.
Junior
Marlin Davis qualified for the finals in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. He set a season-best time and reached the NCAA provisional standard in the 100 meters by placing second in the preliminaries with a wind-aided time of 10.40 seconds. Davis also finished eighth with a wind-aided time of 21.38 seconds during the preliminaries of the 200 meters on Friday.
Senior
Noah Bernarding placed fifth in preliminaries of the 800-meter run after crossing the finish line in 1 minute, 54.99 seconds.
The Vulcans sit in a tie for eighth place at the league championships with eight points. East Stroudsburg claimed the lead in the team standings with 61.5 points after seven events. Host Slippery Rock sits second with 58.5 points and Shippensburg fell to third place on Friday with 45 points.
Junior
Aidan McMahon set a pair of personal records on Friday at the league championships. He registered a wind-aided time of 10.67 seconds in the 100 meters and posted a time of 21.78 seconds, also wind-aided, in the 200 meters.
Senior
Kohen Stover finished with a season-best time of 10:10.89 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Cal finishes the PSAC Championships tomorrow, Saturday, May 10, with entries in eight different events, starting at 12:45 p.m.
