SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (May 1) – The Vulcans scored in four events and five entries qualified for finals during the second day of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Friday.
Freshman
Bode Layo and sophomore
Scott Amin both scored in the high jump at the league meet. Layo placed fifth overall after clearing 2.01 meters (6-7.0 feet), while Amin tied for sixth with a height of 1.91 meters (6-3.25 feet). Layo also scored in the long jump on Friday, as he finished seventh with a distance of 7.21 meters (23-8.0 feet).
Freshmen twins
Aidon Lett and
Ekoulus Lett both qualified for the finals in the 400-meter hurdles.
Ekoulus Lett placed fourth in the preliminaries with a time of 54.53 seconds and
Aidon Lett finished seventh with a time of 55.07 seconds.
Fellow freshman
Nate Hoffman scored in the decathlon after totaling 5,779 points to finish seventh overall. Over the final five events on Saturday, he won the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:34.49.

Aidan McMahon placed sixth with a time of 41.45 seconds to qualify for the finals.
Individually, Davis qualified for the finals in the 200-meter dash after crossing the finish line in 21.34 seconds.
After seven events, California ranks sixth in the team standings with 16.5 points. Slippery Rock leads the championship with 70 points, while Shippensburg sits second with 62 points and East Stroudsburg ranks third with 42.5 points.
The Vulcans close out PSAC Championships tomorrow, Saturday, May 2, with events starting at 11 a.m.
