Bernarding breaks school record at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. (April 13) – California (PA) senior Noah Bernarding broke his own school record in the 800-meter run and was one of two entries to reach a NCAA provisional qualifying mark over the weekend while at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell.

RECORD/NCAA MARKS
• Bernarding eclipsed the school record he set last April while competing on the same track.
• He broke the school mark by 0.14 seconds while reaching the NCAA provisional mark for the first time this spring.
• Junior Jonathan Thrush also registered a provisional-qualifying time while at Bucknell.
• He reached the NCAA standard in the 10,000-meter run while establishing a personal record in the event.

PSAC STANDARDS
• Bernarding recorded the fastest time in the PSAC this season in the 800 meters after crossing the finish line in 1:50.65.
• He finished third in the event, tops among NCAA Division II entries, with the fastest time in the league this year by nearly nine-tenths of a second.
• Thrush also set the best mark in the PSAC this spring in the 10,000 meters over the weekend.
• He posted a time of 29:34.70 to also finish third at Bucknell, nearly 28 seconds faster than his previous personal best set at the 2024 Penn Relays.
• Bernarding also improved his PSAC-qualifying time in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:52.01 at Bucknell.
• He now sits third on the league's performance list in the event this season.
• Junior Marlin Davis placed second in the 100-meter dash with a wind-aided time of 10.52 seconds.
• He also improved his conference-qualifying time in the 200-meter dash by crossing the finish line in 21.80 seconds.
• Junior Aidan McMahon set a pair of personal records at Bucknell, highlighted by reaching the PSAC standard in the 100 meters with a wind-aided time of 10.71 seconds.

• The Vulcans will compete at a pair of events this weekend with select entries traveling to the Aggie Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T State and others competing at the Benson/Hodge Memorial Invitational hosted by Robert Morris.
