Marlin Davis was chosen the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Monday afternoon.
Davis reached a pair of NCAA provisional qualifying marks and broke his own school record in the 60-meter dash at the Penn State Tune-Up on Friday. He won the finals of the 60 meters by over one-tenth of a second with a time of 6.74 seconds after topping the preliminaries by crossing the finish line in 6.81 seconds. Davis also placed second in the 200-meter dash behind only an entry from the host Nittany Lions with an indoor personal best of 21.46 seconds.
A native of South Carolina, Davis eclipsed his own school record in the 60 meters set in the season-opener at Youngstown State by four-hundredths of a second. He enters the PSAC Championships ranked third on the league's performance list in the event, just one-hundredth of a second behind the top time. Davis boasts the fastest time in the conference in the 200 meters this winter by four-tenths of a second.
The PSAC Championships will be held on March 1-2 at the Philip Rauch Fieldhouse on the campus of Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
