LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (April 12) – California senior Noah Bernarding was selected to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Winter Top 10 on Friday afternoon announced the league office.

The PSAC Top 10 Awards, which are selected by the league's sports information directors, recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). The sports eligible for consideration for the Winter Top 10 Awards are men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's indoor track & field and wrestling.

Bernarding earned All-America status for the first time in his collegiate career this winter by placing 12th overall at the NCAA Championships in the 800-meter run. He was chosen both the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Atlantic Region Track Athlete of the Year and PSAC Track Athlete of the Year last month. At the PSAC Championships, Bernarding captured his first career league title by winning 1-mile run and also finished second in the 800 meters. The 5-foot-10 senior broke the all-time indoor PSAC record in the 800 meters this season and set indoor school records in both the 800 meters and mile.

A native of Cochranton, Pennsylvania, Bernarding has garnered USTFCCCA all-region laurels three times this academic year (cross country, 800 meters and mile) and eight times in his career. He also is now an eight-time All-PSAC honoree with four times in both cross country and track & field.

Bernarding maintains a 3.59 cumulative GPA while finishing a degree in psychology. He previously earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors last year and has received USTFCCCA All-Academic laurels three times in his career. Bernarding is the ninth PSAC Top 10 selection from the men's track & field program over the last 15 years.

All Top 10 Award winners from each season – fall, winter, spring – are eligible for the PSAC Pete Nevins Scholar-Athlete of the Year Awards, which are given to one male and one female candidate.
