Noah Bernarding earning his first career invitational title, the California (PA) men's cross country team finished third at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday morning at Schenley Park.
NOTES
• The Vulcans totaled 118 points in the standings while competing in a field of 16 teams.
• Bernarding posted a time of 25:07.2 over the eight-kilometer course to win the race by over 24 seconds.
• He finished with an average mile of 5:03.2 while in a field of 130-plus entries.
• Sophomore 
Jordan Wiedman ranked second on the team and placed 28th overall with a time of 27:05.8.
• The host Tartans captured the tournament title with a score of 34 points behind five top-10 runners.

• Cal is idle for two weeks before competing at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Oct. 26 in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
