SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (April 29) – The Vulcans captured five individual victories and 16 entries recorded conference-qualifying marks on Saturday while at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg.
In only his second week of competition this spring, senior
Jalen Cloud (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski) won the long jump and established a personal record in the event. He posted a distance of 7.23 meters (23-8.75 feet) on his final attempt and ranks sixth on the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Performance List in the event this year. The 2022 PSAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, Cloud also improved his season-best mark in the triple jump with a mark of 13.96 meters (45-9.75 feet) on Saturday.
Senior
Kristopher Lytle (Columbia, Md./Atholton) claimed a pair of individual victories at Shippensburg. He posted the fastest in both the preliminaries and finals of the 100-meter dash, winning the event by two-hundredths of a second with a time of 10.75 seconds in the finals. Lytle crossed the finish line first overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.79 seconds, which over two-tenths of a second faster than the rest of the field.
Sophomore
Logan Pfister (Fishertown, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) equaled his lifetime outdoor personal best while winning the high jump on Saturday. In his first competition in three weeks, he reached the NCAA provisional standard by clearing a height of 2.04 meters (6-8.25 feet) on his third attempt at the mark. Pfister continues to rank first in the high jump on the league's performance list this spring and remains the only entry to reach the NCAA qualifying mark.
Freshman
Daniel Munro (Brookhaven, Pa./Penncrest) claimed his first collegiate victory in the pole vault at Shippensburg. He set a season-best height by clearing 4.65 meters (15-3.0 feet) on his third and final attempt at the mark. Munro, who was only half an inch shy of matching the school record, earned All-PSAC status in the pole vault during the indoor season by finishing third at the league championships.

Aidan McMahon (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) finished with a time of 3 minutes, 22.78 seconds.
Individually, Boea-Gisler and McMahon both reached the conference-qualifying standard in the 400-meter hurdles at Shippensburg. Boea-Gisler finished third in the event with a time of 54.35 seconds, while McMahon rounded the track in 58.27 seconds. McMahon also posted a time of 16.10 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and senior
John Franklin, Jr. (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) placed fifth in the finals of the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.16 seconds.
Senior
Ethan Moyer (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) established a personal record in the javelin throw, while placing third overall and tops among attached entries. He posted a heave of 58.13 meters (190-8.0 feet) on his sixth and final attempt. Moyer now ranks third on the league's performance list after finishing ninth overall at last year's conference meet. Sam Rothstein (Sykesville, Md./Century) reached a pair of league-qualifying standards on Saturday. He set a personal record by placing fifth in the hammer throw with a distance of 49.13 meters (161-2.0 feet), plus finished ninth in the shot put with a heave of 14.07 meters (46-2.0 feet).
Two days after competing in the 10,000-meter run at the Penn Relays, freshman
Jonathan Thrush (Temple, Pa./Muhlenberg) competed in the 5,000-meter run on Saturday. He qualified for the league championships while competing in the event for the first time by placing second overall behind an unattached entry with a time of 15:15.97.
Freshman
George Boutiller (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) qualified for the PSAC Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Shippensburg. He rounded the track with a time of 10:17.81 while competing in the event for the third time this season.
The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, May 6, when they compete at the WVU Last Chance in Morgantown, West Virginia.
