CALIFORNIA (March 4) – Following a win in the semifinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament, the second-seeded California (PA) women's basketball team will face top-seeded Gannon in the PSAC Championship on Sunday, March 5, at the Highmarks Event Center in Erie, Pennsylvania.
TICKETS
Gannon will be selling tickets for the PSAC Tournament at the cost of $15 plush reserved, $10 general admission adults, $5 general admission students and free admission for PSAC students with valid ID. The ticket window at the Highmark Events Center will open 90 minutes prior to tip-off. Cash and credit card sales will be accepted.

STORYLINES
• Last Time Out: Cal earned a 62-59 victory over West Chester, the top seed from the PSAC East, in the semifinals of the league tournament on Saturday. All five starters for the Vulcans scored in double figures.
• Cal advances to the PSAC Championship for a consecutive season and will face Gannon for the second-straight year in the title game.
• The winner of the contest will earn an automatic-qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament.
PSAC TOURNAMENT
• The top-seeded Gannon Lady Knights will host the second-seeded Vulcans in the PSAC Championship on Sunday afternoon.
• Gannon was the highest remaining seed in the PSAC West and secured hosting rights for the semifinals and championship this weekend.

Jess Strom leads the Vulcans to the finals of the PSAC Tournament for the fifth time in her 12-year career.

Halle Herrington leads the team this post-season by averaging 16.5 points per game, while All-PSAC First-Team selection senior

Allycia Harris, the 2023 PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year, has controlled the glass with 23 total rebounds for an average of 11.5 rebounds per game.
• Cal is shooting 44.1 percent from the floor during its current five-game winning streak, plus is converting 79.6 percent from the free-throw line.
SCOUTING THE LADY KNIGHTS
• Head coach Cleve Wright has been at the helm at Gannon for 15 years over two stints and has complied a 324-117 overall record. Additionally, Wright has guided the Lady Knights to three PSAC Championships (2010, 2020, 2022).
• The Lady Knights feature the top scoring offense in the league at 73.7 points per game on a league-best .464 field-goal percentage. Gannon also sits third in the PSAC in scoring defense, holding opponents to just 58.9 per game.
• Gannon boats the 2023 PSAC West Athlete of the Year in Samantha Pirosko, who ranks second in the league with 20.5 points per game. She also sits second in the conference with a .556 field-goal percentage and averages a career-high 7.4 rebounds per game.
SERIES
• Gannon holds a 19-17 advantage in the series over Cal since the Lady Knights joined the PSAC in the 2008-09 season. Gannon has won six of the last seven meetings since the 2019-20 campaign.
• The Vulcans are appearing in the PSAC Championship for the fifth time since 2015.
• Cal will be facing Gannon in the PSAC Tournament for the seventh time on Sunday with the home team holding 5-0 record (one neutral meeting) in the tournament series. The Lady Knights have won the previous two meetings in the PSAC Championship (2010, 2022).
