KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 12) – The California (PA) men's basketball team vaulted nine positions to No. 13 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Top 25 Coaches' Poll on Tuesday afternoon.
The Vulcans (7-0) returned to the national poll for the first time in over 15 years last week at No. 24. In its lone contest of the week, Cal shot over 60 percent from the floor while cruising to an 89-50 victory in its home opener against Chestnut Hill on Sunday.
Cal is now one of two teams from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) featured in the national rankings. Under a first-year head coach, Gannon (7-0) debuted in the top 25 for the first time since 2013 at No. 18 despite being idle last week. Also in the Atlantic Region, West Liberty (8-1) of the Mountain East Conference (MEC) dropped four positions to No. 6 after splitting a pair of games last week.
The Vulcans continue their homestand tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 13, when they face Wheeling at the Convocation Center with tip-off at 6 p.m.
