CALIFORNIA (Nov. 21) – The California (PA) women's soccer team featured five players earning College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District status on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore
Katey Bern, sophomore
Reagan Bromiley, sophomore
Izabella DeGlopper, junior
Bella Gilberto and junior
Lorina Romeis all received the accolade for the first time in their careers.
A native of Virginia, Bern started all 18 games this season. She maintains a 3.54 grade-point average while pursuing a degree in fisheries and wildlife biology.
Bromiley started 12 games this fall and ranked second on the team with five points on two goals and one assist. She holds a 3.87 GPA while majoring in psychology.
A native of New York, DeGlopper started 17 games this year and appeared in all 18 games. She boasts a 3.80 GPA while pursuing a degree in communication sciences and disorders.
Gilberto played in all 18 games with 10 starts and collected one assist this season. She maintains a 3.55 GPA while majoring in biology with a concentration in pre-med.
Romeis started all 18 games this fall and led the team with seven points and three goals. An undergraduate transfer, she enrolled with a 3.70 GPA and is majoring in mechatronics engineering technology.
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA and have played in 90 percent of the team's games (previously 50 percent) or start 66 percent of the team's games. Additionally, each institution is capped at six nominees in the sport of women's soccer.
Note, starting in the 2023-24 academic year advancement from Academic All-District submission to the Academic All-America ballot will be determined by subcommittees of the CSC Academic All-America program (formerly CoSIDA). Also new is the elimination of the 12-month residency requirement for undergraduate transfers.
