Women's Soccer blanked at IUP

Vulcans shutout for first time in three weeks; Teams combine for 10 shots with five on net

INDIANA, Pa. (Nov. 1) – Facing the top-ranked scoring defense in the league, the California (PA) women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss at IUP in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action on Saturday afternoon.

NOTES
• The Vulcans (2-12-2, 2-9-2) have dropped eight contests this year by a 1-0 count.
• The teams entered halftime scoreless, as IUP attempted five shots and took two corner kicks in the first half.
• IUP scored the lone goal of the contest at the 69:12-mark when Ellie Smith registered her PSAC-leading 20th goal of the year, unassisted.
• Freshman Autumn Bishop tallied three saves in the losing effort.
• The Crimson Hawks finished the game with a 9-1 shot advantage and held a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
