STILLWATER, Okla. (May 16) – For the first time in his career, California University of Pennsylvania sophomore
Tyler Kipp (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) was chosen to the PING all-region team announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Monday afternoon.
Kipp led the team with a scoring average of 74.2 strokes while playing in all 10 events this season. He registered a top-10 finish four times this year while shooting nine rounds at 72 or better. Kipp carded a team-best score eight times this season and fired the best round of his career at four-under 67 in the opening round of the Vulcan Invitational at Cedarbrook Golf Course.
A native of Reading, Kipp holds a scoring average of 75.1 strokes over 16 events in his career. He was selected the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Freshman of the Year last spring after finishing third overall at the league championships. Kipp also was chosen as an individual qualifier to the 2021 NCAA Atlantic/East Region Championships while a freshman.
Kipp is the program's first PING-all-region honoree since Ryan Smith accomplished the feat in three straight years from 2018-20.
